Provide health services and support which will assist students in achieving and/or maintaining optimum health.
The LPN is directly accountable to the Special Education Director and/or nurse assignecd.
Qualifications:
Must have licensed practical nurse certification/licensure. Must have attained a high school diploma or equivalent. Show a sincere interest in working with children. Be able to communicate appropriately with adults and children. Be willing to participate in staff development sessions to improve knowledge base.
Terms of Employment:
LPN's are employed 200 days at a salary designated in the county salary scale which coincides with their classification.

2. Work Duties and Performance
- Provides specialized health services to students requiring it.
- Assists school staff in understanding and managing student health issues.
- Provides training to school staff as appropriate to perform required procedures and provides staff development training on health related topics.
- Provides aid and emergency crisis nursing to ill or injuredstudents and otherrs as deemed appropriate.
- Develops health care plans for students as appropriate.
- Maintains a daily record of student intervention and provides monthly reports to supervising nurse and/or Special Education Director.
- Maintains student immunization records.
3. Professional Development
- Attend in-service and job-related training programs.
- Work toward skill improvement and efficiency.
