Location:  Central Preston Middle School

Salary:  $20.00 per hour

Budget Source:  Homeless Grant

Supervisor:  Principal Assigned, Attendance Coordinator, Homeless Service Provider

Certification:  Minimum BA in Education

Employment Term:  26 days; effective upon approval through approximately May 21, 2018; 2 hours per day; 2 days per week; not to exceed 26 days or 52 hours during the school day or after school.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA in Education required
• Experience in secondary education preferred;
• Relatees well to children and school staff;
• Experience working with at-risk children with disabilities;
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contract non-renewed for cause by another school district are eligible for consideration;
• Satisfactory references concerning past performance;
• Satisfactory past evaluations.

Job Descrption/Major Duties:

• Provide instruction to students in small groups or individually;
• Provide homework help to students;
• Monitor weekly academic progress and homework completion rates;
• Collaborate with parents and teachers to target and provide services based on individual student needs;
• Attend trainings and staff meetings as required;
• Assist in activities geared to sustain program after grant funding has ceased;
• Document grades and names of studdents who attend each tutoring session.

Position is contingent upon grant funding from the Homeless Grant.
