Shift:  8:00 am - 4:00 pm

 

Employment Term:  240 days; 2018-19 school year

 

Salary Range:  Pay Grade E; $25,380.00 - $41,220.00

 

General Qualifications:

  • Must pass state's required competency test;
  • Must have attained a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Organizational Skills:

  • Organize, schedule and prepare materials for meetings.
  • Input and follow up on maintenance work orders.
  • Maintain an efficient filing system, in both electronic and hardcopy format.
  • Maintain student records, including student transcripts, permanent record cards, absentee, tardy, and discipline lists.
  • Maintain personnel records such as certifications and insurance memberships as required by respective office.
  • Sort, stamp date received and route incoming mail.

Communication Skills:

  • Answer and route incoming telephone calls.
  • Maintain confidentiality as required by the position.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Receive and work with parents, public and officials who enter the facility kin a professsional manner.

Critical Thinking Skills:

  • Maintain strict records and follow protocol for signing out students to authorized persons.
  • Practice good safety habits and have knowledge of basic first aid.
  • Be familiar with emergency preparedness and security procedures.

Technical Skills:

  • Order and stock office supplies.
  • Perform bookkeeping and financial activities such as purchase orders, time sheets, balance books, balance bank statements, prepare checks, and make bank deposits.
  • Prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, charts, expense forms, booklets, purchase orders, business forms, certificates, etc.
  • Enter and retrieve information and data from the West Virginia Education Information System (WVEIS) as it relates to the job.
  • Have a working knowledge of computer work processing software and other computer software pertinent to the respective office.
  • Operate and monitor maintenance of office machines such as compuer, copier, fax machine, calculator, scanner and printer.
